Welcome to the official Rose 'n Thorns website.

Rose 'n Thorns began in 2005 when three friends who enjoyed playing music together were asked to perform as a support act at the South Coast Folk Club. Kath Kennedy, Sean Flynn and Peter Hendry enjoyed the experience so much that they decided to stay together as a band, playing mainly traditional Irish and Scottish songs and tunes.

Jim Walker joined the band early in 2006 after the trio provided musical backing for his singing at the Frances Folk Festival. Amanda Bettesworth was invited to join Rose 'n Thorns in late 2006. Peter Hendry left the band in 2007 to go solo.

We enjoy exploring all kinds of folk music, predominantly Celtic due to our backgrounds.
